Foster Parent Support
It Takes a Village
They Say “It Takes a Village to Raise a Child,” and at The House, you’ve got an entire team of experts at your disposal to support you and help build a positive foster care environment.
Access to Education
The House has their very own team of trainers who are able to provide one-on-one or group trainings to help you improve both your competence and confidence. We provide our mandatory trainings monthly in rotating schedules to ensure there is always a training schedule that can work for you.
Highest Standards
We are a Trauma Informed Care Agency, certified through The Sanctuary Institute. We truly believe in the importance of understanding trauma and how it impacts not only the child, but our staff and Foster Parents as well. Through our commitment to Open Communication, our doors are always open to your concerns, comments, or suggestions to ensure that your voice is heard.
Committed to Growth & Change
We are constantly improving and evolving, much in the way we strive for our children to do. If there is something that needs to be improved, we want to hear about it. Our Foster Parent Support Group, run by one of our own foster parents, meets regularly and shares ideas to ensure that we are aware of what our Foster Parents are saying.
The House of the Good Shepherd Foster Care Program offers free 12 week training classes.
